Participate: The Revolution of Fan Culture

I made this film as a companion to my 4th year dissertation. It is non-commercial, non-profit. My hope is that it will highlight an aspect of fandom that is not always seen.

It's about how creativity comes from passion and passion is what makes a fan.

Every single person interviewed in this documentary is not only a fan but is also a media professional in their own right. They have channeled their passion into creating things that are loved by people all over the world.

I want to communicate the fact that being a fan is about more than being a passive viewer, it's about participation, it's about creation. Creation of communities, of joy and of art.

This film is itself a fan project.
